Privacy
Short version: your statement is never kept, and your list has no name or email on it. Last changed 17 October 2026.
Statements
A statement you paste or choose is sent over HTTPS, read in memory to find the repeating charges, and dropped when the result page is made. It is not written to our database, our application logs or any file we keep. An uploaded file is deleted from the server's temporary folder as soon as it is read.
Your Party List
We store the lines you add (name, price, how often, dates, how it is paid, your verdict, uses, cancel date and confirmation number) under a random key. We keep only a scrambled (SHA-256) copy of the key, so we cannot find your list for you or link it to you. Your browser keeps the key in a cookie named __Host-cp_list for up to 400 days.
Letters
What you type into the letter maker is used to make the page and not stored.
Other data
To stop abuse we count requests per connection, stored as a salted hash of the address and deleted after two days. The web server keeps standard access logs (address, page, time) for a short time. A security cookie protects the forms. There are no advertising or tracking cookies, no analytics service (on pages with the banner, the ad tag adds one to a daily page-view total) and no tracking across sites. Fonts are served from this site; the only outside service a page loads is the adengine.us banner described under Advertising.
Advertising
The home page, Pricing, About and the Cancel Kit guides show one banner ad below the page, labelled “Advertisement”. It comes from AdEngine (adengine.us), the small ad network run by WeldonPC, the company behind Cancel Party. For now the ads are for WeldonPC’s own services. The Sweep (where you paste a statement), your Party List, the letter maker, a guide opened from your list, the terms, this page and error pages show no ad, and nothing from your statement, list or letter is ever sent to adengine.us.
To show an ad, your browser loads a script from adengine.us, asks it for one banner, loads the banner image, and reports once that the page was viewed and once that the banner was shown. Like any website, adengine.us receives your IP address, your browser type and the address of this site with those requests; your browser tells it only that you came from cancelparty.com, not which page.
No cookies, no profile. AdEngine sets no cookies, gives you no ID and does not track you from site to site.
How your IP address is used. adengine.us looks up the approximate city for your IP address in a location database kept on its own server (nothing is sent to anyone else), so that ads meant for one area are shown only there. It also uses the address to count each ad view or click only once and to leave out robots and WeldonPC’s own office traffic. The address is not stored with the counts; the temporary entries made from it expire within six hours and are cleared from the server within two days.
What is kept. Daily totals only: page views for Cancel Party, and views and clicks for each ad. The adengine.us web server also keeps a standard access log (IP address, time, address requested, referring site, browser) for security; it is deleted on a rolling schedule.
Clicking an ad passes through adengine.us, which counts the click, and then opens the advertiser’s site, which has its own privacy policy. Nothing about you is sold or shared.
Payments
Once payments are switched on, PayPal handles them; we receive only what PayPal sends about the subscription (its ID, plan and status), never your card details.
Deleting
Delete your Party List from the list page at any time; it is removed at once. Nightly database backups are kept for 14 days.
